ABSTRACT

As front line services for young people disappear or face great threat, discussing the need for a new integrative framework for counselling and coaching with adolescents may on the face of it appear be the modern day equivalent of ‘fiddling while Rome burns’. To adapt Catherine Tate’s ubiquitous teenage Lauren phrase, ‘Are we bothered?’ But as resources for supporting young people dwindle, and are targeted on those in highest need, it is more important than ever that we identify new, innovative, efficient, cost-effective and swift responses that can support all young people as they develop and change.
