ABSTRACT

The food desired by consumers is also changing rapidly due to increased purchasing power, gains in nutritional knowledge, and innovations in food packaging, preparation, and dining. The 'economic way of thinking' is a powerful tool that leads to greater understanding of economic, political, and personal issues. Polarization stems from diversity among people. Interestingly, however, differences in resources are also the foundation of specialization and trade, which is a major source of prosperity and economic growth. The history of agriculture in high-income nations is one of large and continuous productivity growth. Since 1950, agricultural production practices have replaced labor with machines, chemicals, and synthetic fertilizers. A market-based economy provides benefits to society in the form of an enormous range of consumer choice and high income levels. Polarization in politics plays an important role in moving society forward. Criticism and dissent often lead to improved outcomes: the US was formed with the objective of improving the political system.
