ABSTRACT

Comparative evaluation of performance generally involves using summaries of outputs from the analyses of several alternative project solutions, each of which the modeler has analyzed at a similar level of detail. There are two basic types of comparisons. The fi rst type is for the purpose of selecting a particular solution amongst two or more alternatives (e.g. How does BRT compare to LRT in Seattle?). The second involves using data from a similar peer application elsewhere in order to learn more about the costs and benefi ts of particular potential solutions at the project location (e.g. How would LRT perform in Seattle based on experience in Portland?).
