ABSTRACT
Classical political economy, like Marx, developed a social theory which presupposes that human beings are socially constituted and grouped in social classes. Lawson's contribution provides a social ontology which summarises the main tenets of this approach to social theory, in which human action and social structure presuppose each other, as noted in chapter 7.
