ABSTRACT

As Davis (2002) and Sen (2003) explain, Sraffa contributed not only to economics, through the revival of classical political economy he brought, but also to philosophy. However, Sraffa did not leave any written work on philosophy. Thus, Sraffa's contribution to philosophy came essentially through his conversations with Wittgenstein, who acknowledges Sraffa as the most important influence on the book Philosophical Investigations — I learned much from conversations with John Davis on this topic (and on many other topics too).
