ABSTRACT
Corps history The Corps of Signals came into existence in June 1920 and became the Royal Corps of Signals in August 1920. It was successor to the Royal Engineers Signal Service, and was organized as a separate corps in recognition of the growing importance and capability of signalling in modern warfare.
