Corps history In 1846 the British army decided to centralize educational matters and created the Corps of Army Schoolmasters with a staff of warrant and noncommissioned officers. In 1920 this gave way to the Army Educational CO!PS, with commissioned and non-commissioned personnel, and in 1946 this became the Royal Army Educational Corps.
