Corps history The Intelligence Corps was formed in 1914 but was disbanded in 1929 and then re-formed on an ad hoc basis in 1939 as British forces were about to move to France. The Intelligence Corps was formally reconstituted in July 1940 with personnel seconded from other units, but from 1957 the corps has recruited directly.
