ABSTRACT

MNEs confront a number of special problems related to the training and development (T&D) of their global workforces and managers. Responsibility for T&D is traditionally one of HR’s core functions. So when an enterprise’s international business reaches a significant level, when it is involved with multiple subsidiaries and partnerships in other countries,

when it transfers its technology to other countries, when it develops and pursues a global strategy and markets its products and/or services on a global scale, and when it relocates a number of employees to international positions, the T&D function takes on a new and more complex nature.
