That what we have said in the course of our discussion upon this subject should suggest to Mr. Hovenden the idea that we are wishful to stifle any criticism with which he may be disposed to favour us is the last thing that we desire; and we venture to think that any such conclusion is the last that will be drawn from our remarks by anyone who views the circumstances dispassionately.
