ABSTRACT

We learn from the columns of The Western Mail that the elective auditors of Pembroke have joined in the “strike” of elective auditors, which is becoming fairly general, for adequate remuneration. At a recent meeting of the Town Council a notice from one of the auditors was read stating his intention to sue for the recovery of the balance claimed by him unless the amount was paid at once. The auditor claimed £6 6s. (three days’ work at £2 2s. per day), of which the Council had only paid £2 2s. The money was ordered to be paid.
