ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explains that the benefit of partial hybrid curriculum in the classroom, having more time, to promote communication in the L2 and to reduce the grammar-focused aspect of the classroom setting, putting learning where it belongs with the students. The classroom setting is an extremely complex and multifaceted place in which there are not only the usual stakeholders but also the curriculum, administration, policy holders, parents, politicians. The author consider all of these variables, both as a researcher and a teacher, and that explains simply why one opt for Explicit learning in the L2 classroom: A student-centered approach. Also e-tutors and synchronous computer-mediated communication (SCMC) will be increasingly used in the L2 classroom, as the push for online language learning is ever more present.
