ABSTRACT
But wisdom is certainly much more than merely finding the maximum value of something which is at most a means to a final goal. Insight requires a good sense of proportion, seeing the big picture, and the ability to distinguish between ends and means. We want to make the most out of our lives. This must be the most important objective. In comparison, making money, as well as building a career, must be considered only instrumental: we make money or build a career only as long as doing so helps enrich our lives.
