Francis Hackett (1883-1962), Irish born critic and associate editor of the ‘New Republic’ (1914-22) and book editor of the ‘New York Times’ (1944-5), wrote ‘Horizons: A Book of Criticism’ (1918) and continued writing criticism until the late 1940s. See also Nos 76, 84, 96.
