Michael A. Burayidi is Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Coordinator of the Urban and Regional Studies program at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. His professional interests are in the area of comparative economic development, downtown revitalization, sustainable development, and urban land management. Burayidi has published several articles in his area of expertise in such journals as the Journal of Planning Education and Research, Journal of Agriculture and Human Values, and the Journal of Economic Issues, among others. In additon he is author/editor of the following books: Urban Planning in a Multicultural Society (Praeger, 2000); Multiculturalism in a Cross National Perspective (University Press of America, 1997), Race and Ethnic Relations in the First Person (with Alfred T. Kisubi, Praeger 1998).
