ABSTRACT
For the purpose of assessing the possibilities of transatlantic cooperation as well as the pattern of intra-European cooperative effort it is necessary to appreciate the industrial status of Europe's defence capacity. Thus, this chapter and also Chapter Five, concentrate on examining the development attributes of Europe's defence–industrial base.
