ABSTRACT

Statistical process control (SPC), is the periodic sampling and analysis of elements from services or manufacturing to determine if a process is performing to some target level or conforms to specification. If sample data is within the specification limits then the process is considered to be meeting requirements, or more bluntly, is in control. Alternatively, if sample data falls outside the specification limits, it is not meeting conditions and is out of control. In business a goal is to always provide specification or perfect quality to customers within the constraints of operational objectives.
