ABSTRACT

Carbon Neutral Is Not Climate Proof The impacts of climate change are already being felt, and decisions based on historic climate data are no longer robust. The risks of dangerously high temperatures are increasing, along with greater incidence of flooding, strain on water resources and quality, and less stable ground conditions. What’s more, however successful we are at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, further climate change is already built into the climate system for decades to come. Adapting to inevitable climate change is therefore now recognized as an essential part of ensuring our economic, environmental, and social systems can thrive now and in the future. Addressing climate change requires coordinated effort by both public and private sector decision-makers.
