ABSTRACT
The Russian Afanasii Nikitin was one of the first Europeans to undertake a trip to India. In 1466, he left his home town Tver and eventually reached Golkonda where he spent three years. He left a famous travel account which remains one of the masterpieces of Russia medieval literature.
