ABSTRACT

Lewis Mumford’s idea of regionalism is an integral part of his writings and it allowed him to reflect upon problems of much deeper and broader significance than architecture. The recent return of the question of regionalism to architectural debates only makes Mumford’s unique legacy of free thinking all the more alive and vital.
