ABSTRACT
The Portuguese, under Lopez Soarez de Albergaria, occupied the island o f Seerah in 1516, and during their short stay repaired the old fort which stood on its summit, and further strengthened the position by enclosing it with a strong wall, the remains o f which are still extant.
