ABSTRACT
Different corporate governance structures are appropriate for different company types. Given the specifics of the project-oriented company, which manages unique business processes of medium to large scope by projects and by programs, specific governing structures are required. The elements governing the project-oriented company are:
• its specific objectives, strategies, and values; • its specific processes, namely project initiation, project management, program
management, and project portfolio coordination; • its temporary organizations, namely projects and programs, and its specific
permanent organizations, namely the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Project Portfolio Group; and
• its descriptions of the specific roles, namely project/program sponsors, project/ program managers, and project/program teams.
