ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. This book presents the evidence that reveals a changing situation in the experience of young people. There are two key phrases that emerge from the book and which encapsulate the complexity and the tension of the experiences of the young. The first is the word hypocrites. Many young people point out the levels of hypocrisy, suggesting that the morals of Islam are twisted to suit the interests of personal and family power. The second telling phrase is the family should come first. This is what is ultimately driven into the consciousness of the young. The community looks after its own. The emphasis is on the new minorities to adjust to British society quicker or they can become part of a secluded community. Certain traditional attitudes remain significant. The biraderi remains powerful institution that has enormous power over individuals and parents.
