ABSTRACT
In the Middle Ages, the Hospitaller possessions in Croatia formed an integral part of the priory of Hungary, and might at first sight appear to be no more than a provincial subdivision of it. Since, however, the bulk of its possessions were on Croatian soil, the history of the priory of Hungary is predominantly a Croatian story.
