ABSTRACT

Here is a cherry-redd fruict both within and without (as I have seene the like in the Bermudas), which wee call the prickle peare; \ in the Indies they are well knowne to every common marryner; they beare a broad, thick, spungeous leafe, full of kernclls ; they be like unto the pomegranet ; the tast of this peare is verie pleasant, and the juyce cold and fresh, like the water in theW est Indian nut called cocus; the juyce is sharpe and penetrable like deale-wyne, 2 prescribed powerfull against the stone.
