ABSTRACT

Shadowing is a good way to get an inside perspective on someone else’s role, and one to which you might aspire. The sense we have of another role is frequently built up by a combination of assumption and observation. This can result in an image of the role which is at variance to the reality of the role. Shadowing can provide some of the experiential texture of the role.
