Task Groups/Working Parties/Committees/Steering Groups–Temporary Groups

The common factor among these types of groupings is that they are brought together for a specific purpose. In this they differ from those teams or work groups which you are part of in everyday work. Although the time-scales of such groups will differ, membership in them and the existence of the groups themselves is seen as temporary. (Note that in including ‘committees’ in this heading we are thinking of committees that have a defined life as opposed to committees that are ongoing.)
