ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 illustrates the methodological tools used to test the causal hypotheses of this study and investigates the methodological and analytical choices to test such hypotheses. By considering the European Union institutions and Member States’ interventions in crisis scenarios within the EUHAP institutional framework, this theoretical and methodological path, as already extensively discussed, finally leads this study to test if crisis scenarios differing in terms of urgency, uncertainty and threat, lead to different EU and Member States’ intervention choices.
