ABSTRACT

Biobanks are collections of human biological samples and related health and personal information. A high quality biobank that organises samples for use by biomedical researchers is seen as an important resource for health research, including basic research, questions in personalised or stratified medicine (genetic and other biomarkers) and research in widespread diseases (Asslaber and Zatloukal, 2007; Zika et al., 2010).
