William Hill PLC, founded in 1934 and employing over 15,000 people in the UK, and Ireland, is the UK's largest retail betting estate and one of the best-known names in the UK betting industry. It serves hundreds of thousands of customers through a large network of retail outlets, and, in addition, has a substantial telephone and Internet presence through which people can access the full range of betting and gaming services. In 2007 William Hill accepted Internet bets from over 190 countries for over 60,000 events and 30 different sports.
