ABSTRACT

Communitocracy as the product of globalization’s double movement In previous chapters we have discussed classic liberal theories requiring particular legitimate foundations for a political order. The preservation of life, liberty, and property have been identified as the principal tenets for political legitimacy, without which an authority is destined to collapse. According to both Hobbesian authoritarianism and Lockean liberalism, a state’s protectionism is essential to the preservation of a society’s economic, security, and cultural well-being.
