ABSTRACT

Yesterday at about 11 Morgan returned. I was at the upper end of the water hole with Tampawang at the time, and as he approached I saw that there was something wrong. He had not the Casks for which he had been sent nor did I see that he had any provisions. When he came up I asked what was the matter. [']For Gods sake Sir['] said he [']dont speak to me. I'll tell you all presently. ['] He advanced to the water and dismounting threw himself on his belly and drank deeply. When he rose he said that he had been to the Drays, and was returning with every thing when in the Forest he thought it prudent to rest the horse, that he accordingly took off the pack and let him feed, but that unfortunately he himself fell asleep, and when he woke the horse was gone. 1
