ABSTRACT

This contribution is a record of a conversation between Henriette Steiner and Matthew Gandy which took place in Cambridge in November 2016. In it, questions concerning how we may reconsider the trite dichotomies of modernity, including nature/culture and city/landscape, are discussed. In their place, possibilities for rethinking current approaches to landscape architecture in research and practice are developed, ultimately calling for an enlargement of the ‘urban orchestra’ of voices partaking in the debate, including both human and non-human participants.
