Digital era governance reform and accountability: the case of Denmark

Introduction This chapter concerns the evolution of digitalization reforms in the Danish public sector and how there has been a shift in emphasis on accountability for digitalization from most professional and bureaucratic accountability towards political and legal accountability. This topic is important as digitalization is emerging as one of the most vibrant reform areas in the public sector (OECD 2014). Governments have to face the challenge of how to ensure adequate accountability for this reform.
