ABSTRACT

Talent development consists of planned experience, training and guided growth provided by an organization in order to ensure an uninterrupted supply of competent leaders who are sufficiently equipped and ready to manage the vagaries of the business environment. The most critical element in talent development is to understand the context in which the firm operates or is likely to operate in the future namely, the strategic issues, business realities and environment' and how these circumstances are likely to evolve in the future. Executive development training programmes are planned learning experiences designed and delivered to enable executives perform their current jobs effectively by increasing their business skills, while also preparing them for effective leadership in the future.
