ABSTRACT
This chapter examines a major option available to most supply chain managers in their search for supply chain visibility: the option to get visibility services as a perk of working with a given logistics service provider. Sometimes the visibility service has a nominal charge but most times it is offered for free so long as the logistics provider is being paid for related services such as buying agency, transport, consolidation, or regional coordination. Although there are companies who do not provide logistics services that have visibility solution offerings, the rest of the chapter focuses just on visibility as a perk from a logistics service provider.
