ABSTRACT

This chapter explains creativity potential in a wide range of life domains consequently, examples of creativity explored includes usual understandings of the arts. Both social work and art often work at the borders of the sayable, the thinkable, and the knowable. Poverty and lack of funds are not necessarily an impediment to people expressing their creativity in their places of living. Whether or not individuals believe themselves to be creative, utilisation of the imagination or creativity may be crucial for the ongoing maintenance of a healthy spirituality. While cooking is for some people just another chore which has to be accomplished, for many people cooking is one way in which they express their creativity. Apart from providing gardeners with the physical and mental health benefits of establishing and maintaining a garden, community gardens can bring together parts of a community who might not otherwise have anything to do with each other.
