ABSTRACT

Historically, globalization was marked by various forms of unfair trade including colonization and occupation. Economic globalization is basically measured by capital flows, cross border trades, labor movement, and the spread of knowledge and technology. The current economic globalization has been campaigned and guided by powerful transnational's and international organizations. It includes the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD or the World Bank), the World Economic Forum (WEF), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) towards a free market direction marked by the greatest privatization and corporatization. The current economic globalization practice has a devastating impact on the fragile world environment. The moderate anti-globalization activists suggest a set of fairer trading rules to be formulated within the framework of the current world trade order. In many respects, the current economic globalization assumes an unfair trade pattern.
