ABSTRACT
I recently presented comparative data to a forum that included United Kingdom civil engineers and a representative from the HSE. The essence of the presentation was that UK construction had the lowest injury and fatality rates in Europe. Far from being a pariah industry I suggested that UK construction was a potential leader in the study of health and safety.
