ABSTRACT

This book is informed by research undertaken to critically examine narratives of social workers practising across regional, rural and remote Australia. We contend that giving voice to the experiences of practitioners can inform efforts to support, sustain, build and nurture practice across regional, rural and remote contexts. Further, these experiences can make a valuable contribution to the evidence base for practice from practice via the dissemination and transfer of regional, rural and remote practice wisdom to a wider social work audience, including in urban and/ or metropolitan settings. This chapter outlines the method and process developed to gather and analyse the practitioner narratives which form the primary data upon which this book is based.
