ABSTRACT

The rationalization of the migration decision before, during and after migration by migrant workers has been central to the current study’s research question. Existing researches have only sporadically and in a cursory manner touched upon issues of decision-making and rationalization. Therefore, bringing the two factors under study with the objectives of understanding the components of pre-departure decision-making on the part of the migrants and their families, and then the rationalization of their decisions post-migration, both in situations where the migration goals have been achieved and in cases in which they have not, fills significant gaps in the migration literature for this region.
