ABSTRACT

This summary presents some closing thoughts on concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book focuses on the skills needed for project management and the types of skills that one might need from his/her project team. It explores the ways of building a successful culture within one's project team and how best to lead that team. The book describes the role that coaching can play both for project teams and for stakeholders. It also focuses on ways of engaging project team members and the wider stakeholder group. The book examines the human elements to consider when producing and delivering one's project communication plan. It also explores the contribution that individual personality makes to an individual's willingness to take appropriate risks. The book discusses the issue of conflict and how it can be used positively to facilitate project learning. It provides underlying psychological skills and approaches are as follows: honesty and openness, active listening and empathy.
