ABSTRACT

In fi lm sequels the attractive villain often makes a comeback. The attraction such heroes exert on the audience make them indispensable to the narrative. It would be hard to imagine Terminator II without the human-looking indestructible cyborg. His icon had become so popular that it is explicable why in the sequel he uses his powers to do good. In X-Men: The Last Stand mutants are deprived, ‘cured’ of their abilities, but Magneto demonstrates that the nullifi cation of his powers is temporary and he shall re-acquire them. 1 The previously incapacitated hero returns fully operative.
