ABSTRACT
Half the warehouse was in flames. The fire also damaged the cargo handling area. Chemicals and fire extinguishing agents flowed into the River Sakai close to the warehouse and killed fish. The chemical fire continued to burn for 19 hours, and caused a loss of ¥800m (£5m).
