ABSTRACT

Every day millions of drivers around the world use interactive digital maps enhanced with global positioning system (GPS) technology. Besides GPS, interactive digital maps exploit an array of onboard sensors and sensors distributed throughout the city that detect and send data about the urban environment to the navigation system of the car, as well as information that the thousands of drivers who share the system input directly – a pothole, a new restaurant, an incident. Interactive maps do not simply display roads, but also traffic, accidents, police stations and a wide range of information that helps drivers find their way around the city (even if they were born in that city). And drivers may choose whether they want the fast, the greener or the calmer way.
