ABSTRACT
INtheyearofgrace1585,certainhonourablepersonages andworthygentlemenofthecourtandcountry,together withdiversworshipfulmerchantsofLondonandthewest country,moved,itissaid,bythedesireofadvancingGod's gloryandthegoodoftheirnativeland,associatedthemselvestoconsultontheprobabilityofdiscoveringthemuchdesiredpassagetotheNorth-west.Theydecided,thatthe effortshithertomadehadfailed,notfromtheimpracticabilityofthedesign,butthroughneglectofthemainobjects oftheenterprise;andtheythereforedeterminedtorenew theattempt.
