ABSTRACT

This chapter contains the journey over one year: an experiment in learning; visiting the organisations: location and fit'; a musing on method; and outtakes: comments which fell out of the journey along the way. The journey investigates the testing out of a new idea over a limited timescale. It includes the building of the relationships necessary to construct a meaningful testing forum' for the idea. It explores what could be achieved in that timescale where learning is a primary consideration, so any mistakes, oddities and inefficiencies at the point of embarking can be improved along the way. At the southern edge, new buildings shrill into view: large stores take their cue from the size of the freight-place: Bathroom Heaven, Kings Place, and the Royal Canal Hub. Quite apart from the theory/practice boxing ring, there is another issue around evidence, when building a research method. Many business owners talk about key advances becoming' key advances but they usually do this in retrospect.
