ABSTRACT

In Chapter 3 we introduced a model of the personal deal. In this chapter we build on this model, taking account of the research findings described in Chapter 4, and propose a process and model of how the personal deal operates in practice. The model takes account of the continual change and development of relationships which are a reality of our working lives. The model can be used from the initial pre-recruitment contact between an organisation and potential employees, their entry into the organisation, transition through different and evolving roles, to the individual’s eventual departure from the organisation.
