ABSTRACT

This chapter describes three tools, namely test one's strategy, check in quarterly and reinstate root cause. With the barriers blocking strategy removed and the three pillars, namely assumptions, Product Market Capability (PMC) engine and goals and gaps of the Strategy System created, one have SIMPLIFIED greatly manager's ability to set and remove barriers impacting strategy in their company. The managers use the tools that defined the purpose and path of the company to evaluate its strength, set a regular cadence to evaluate performance and strategic thinking and finally reinstate root cause by looking at the POSITIVE and NEGATIVE variations that occur in the focus goals, Strategic Performance Indicators and PMC Engine. The teams are wed to their efforts but still require a "sense-checking" of their strategy and need to critically test alternatives and paths for growth before making the final choice.
