ABSTRACT
What is legitimacy? The answer will probably depend on the context and is bound to vary from one subject and discipline to the next. A philosophical exposé is different from a legal one. Even within different law disciplines, different answers are given, in this author’s view, as to when something is deemed to be legitimate. Below, this author offers his view of legitimacy from a legal, criminal law perspective.
